Former Wichitan Lenora Eve brings her New York, NY staff to Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas for the Inaugural Opera Breve Vocal Institute, July 24 through August 7th, 2011.

As the Artistic Director and founder of Opera Breve, Ms. Eve has assembled a staff with world renowned Mezzo-Soprano Eugenie Grunewald and her Associate Director and musical theater star of stage and screen Rich Affannato to coach and direct the students. Gary Norden, a New York City based vocal coach and accompanist that has worked with Metropolitan Opera singers, will work with the students and provide piano accompaniment for Suor Angelica and operatic selections. Dr. Donald Maxwell, MSU's own Professor of Voice and Mr. Jan McDaniel, Associate Professor of Vocal Coaching and conductor of the Oklahoma City University Opera and Musical Theater Company round out the musical staff for the two week vocal intensive. The singing participants are from North Texas, Oklahoma and New York.

Three public performances will be presented by the 18 student participants to the community in Akin Auditorium on the MSU campus.

Thursday August 4th at 7:30 PM, Musical Theatre Scenes
Saturday August 6th at 3:00 PM, Opera Scenes
Sunday August 7th at 3:00 PM, Puccini's Suor Angelica (An opera in one act)

All performances are open to the public and free of charge.
